DepEd joins campaign for Puerto Princesa Underground River


Education Secretary Armin Luistro has echoed the national call to support the campaign to recognize the Puerto Princesa Underground River one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

Luistro has issued Memorandum No. 137, series 2011, to call on the entire department to work towards awareness, appreciation,preservation and promotion of our own Puerto Princesa Underground River to be included in the New Seven Wonders of Nature (N7WN) through various activities and other initiatives

WWF Links Up With National Convergence Initiative

Arya Residences Cut Energy Use by 14% for Earth Hour

Driven by the common goal of attaining ecological sustainability, green developer ArthaLand recently partnered with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Philippines).The project, Arya Residences, being a LEED registered (aiming for a Gold certification) development, has in place various measures and facilities to allow its households to save as much as 14% in energy consumption and as much as 40% in potable water usage. With proper maintenance and the conscientious use of these resources, these savings may be enjoyed for over a year.

Bugo Bridge (San Remigio, Antique)


The recently concluded Bugo Bridge inauguration in San Remigio, Antique, proved to be a timely blessing for many residents of the  calamity-prone region. Constructed by Waagner-Biro Philippines Inc. (WBPI), the local subsidiary of Austria-based corporation Waagner-Biro Stahlbau AG, in partnership with the Austrian government and DPWH, the unveiling of the 430-linear meter bridge attracted curious San Remigio denizens in droves, as well as passers-by from neighboring towns.
