FIRST EVER INVESTMENT FORUM TO CREATE SPAIN-PHILIPPINES BUSINESS VENTURES


The Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Manila, on behalf of the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX), will hold its first-ever SPAIN-PHILIPPINES INVESTMENT AND BUSINESS COOPERATION FORUM on March 30th and 31st, 2011. The Forum is organized in collaboration with the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry and the Board of Investments.


30 Spanish companies will participate in the Forum. 22 of these Spanish companies will have individual agendas, organized by the Spanish Embassy to meet their Filipino counterparts for possible joint ventures, partner investments, technology transfer and franchising agreements.

They plan to develop investment projects in the fields of Automotive, Construction and Engineering, Fashion Retail, Food Service, Information and Communication Technologies and Technological Services.
Registration forms are available at www.spainbusiness.com/manilaforum. Interested local companies should email their filled-out registration forms to manilaforum@comercio.mityc.es as soon as possible to qualify for the Forum selection process.

Javier ÁLVAREZ, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Spain said that this year, ICEX chose the Philippines to be one of its partner countries for the Forum based on the demand of the Spanish companies and the potential of business ventures in the country.
The Forum will be officially inaugurated by Mr. Alfredo BONET, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade and ICEX President, and Mr. Jorge DOMECQ, new Spanish Ambassador to the Philippines. The Department of Trade and Industry, NEDA and the Department of Foreign Affairs will represent the Philippine Government at the event.
